Description

This hike through the Nature Conservancy's Francis C. Carter Memorial Preserve features hilly wooded trails. The preserve has offers beautiful scenery that includes grasslands, wetlands, rock outcrops, and ponds. Meet at the preserve’s parking area off Rte 112, which is marked, with signs in both directions of travel. From I-95, take Exit 3A - Rte 138 East. Follow Rte 138 East to the intersection with Rte 112, at the Richmond School. Bear right onto Rte 112 and follow south through Carolina. Continue straight through the intersection with Rte 91 and over the railroad bridge. Travel approx. 1/2 mile and the preserve entrance will be on the right, marked by a sign. From Rte 1 take Rte 112, approximately 4 miles, continuing past Old Mill Road to Francis Carter Preserve sign and entrance on the left. For more information visit www.WesterlyLandTrust.org.
