Announces Daily Summer Events on the Farmstead
Award-Winning Museum Offers Warm-Weather Inspired Events All Summer Long
As the weather heats up, the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center has a variety of indoor and outdoor activities for the whole family to enjoy every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in June, July, and August. Museum-goers can enjoy a myriad of educational programs, activities, and more as they learn about Native life in the great outdoors.
 
Saturdays, 1 – 4 p.m.
Letterboxing
Who doesn’t like a treasure hunt? Learn about Native life while exploring the Farmstead looking for letterboxes. Child-oriented boxes contain a pad and a rubber stamp. Find one of the letterboxes and stamp the booklet with the ink stamp from the letterbox. Free with Museum admission, free to Museum members.
 
Saturdays, 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.
Counting Colors and Cultures
Census taking happened regularly on the reservation in the 1800s – although sometimes what was written did not accurately portray who lived here. Become a detective – using historic documents written by overseers and others to shed light on the realities and misrepresentations of counting Pequots in the 19^th century. In the Pequot Farmhouse. Free with Museum admission, free to Museum members.
