Description
The Museum is proud to present the inaugural exhibit in the Collins Gallery, “Sea-Change.” This exhibit shows beautiful and unique objects from the collections of Mystic Seaport, including some artifacts which have never been on display before. “Sea-Change” gives glimpses into people’s lives in different places and times around the world, from the Atlantic coast on the eve of the American Revolution to western merchants trading for silk and tea in 1850s China, from Artic explorers to laborers harvesting bird guano off Peru for American farmers. A range of public programs will complement the gallery experience and further explore the sea-changes that link stories from around the world to our own.
