Description

"Sharing Small Treasures" Holiday Gift Show and Food Appeal features small artwork-and big hearts.

Luscious lemon lilies that bring summer’s warmth to a cold winter’s day. Delicate porcelain jewelry glowing with color. A simple act of neighbor helping neighbor. Some of the best things in life really do come in the smallest packages. Those who appreciate the little things will enjoy “Sharing Small Treasures,” the holiday gift show featuring small artwork - and big hearts - at the Artists’ Cooperative Gallery of Westerly.

All are invited to the show’s Opening reception on Wednesday, November 6 from 5 to 8 PM, to hunt for small treasures, and bring some of their own. Visitors are invited to bring donations of non-perishable food, which will be delivered to the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center, serving local communities in RI and CT.

An Artist’s Reception will also be held on Friday, Nov. 8 from 5-8 PM.

Discover the beauty of "Sharing Small Treasures" - whether it’s a shimmering pair of handmade earrings, a lovely, affordable print, or a gift of generosity sure to be treasured by a neighbor in need.

Suggested items for Thanksgiving baskets include instant mashed potatoes, stuffing mix, rice, gravy (canned or in envelopes,) macaroni and cheese, canned corn, peas and yams, canned fruit and cranberry sauce. Items needed year round include pasta and sauce, canned meat (e.g. Spam, stews,) beans, canned fruit, peanut butter & jelly, powdered milk, juice.

The PNC improves and enhances the quality of life of local residents of all ages by providing basic human needs including food, heating and utility assistance, job search assistance and senior transportation to obtain medical care. And right now, they, and those they serve, need help more than ever. For more information, please visit www.the-pnc.org.

November’s show features works in oils, watercolors, acrylics, photography, glass, pottery, fiber arts, sculpture and more. And of course, as always at the Artists’ Cooperative, shopping is tax-free.

The Opening Reception will be held in conjunction with the monthly first Wednesday night Art Stroll held in downtown Westerly and Pawcatuck, when shops, artistic venues and restaurants will be open.
