Explore one of the largest pitch pine forests in the state, located in Groton. This dramatic hike follows along granite ridges through a pitch pine and scrub oak barren, past old quarries, vernal pools and streams. Moderate. Difficult terrain, medium pace. Meet in the commuter parking lot off Poheganut Drive. This program is suited for adults and older, interested children.
