Aquatic Dance Project

Description

Mystic Aquarium, the Elm City Dance Collective and New Haven Symphony Orchestra (NHSO) have partnered to bring a cutting edge contemporary dance piece depicting the relationship of life on land and in the sea to students and audiences around Connecticut. Elm City Dancers, accompanied by NHSO musicians, will artistically dive, float and swim as they personify the amazing aquatic life at Mystic Aquarium. This innovative yearlong project will also include a multi-dimensional education program and performances presented in schools across the state of Connecticut. The project will culminate with a two-day family festival at Mystic Aquarium on May 14 and 15, 2011. This program has been made possible through the support of the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism and United Illuminating.
