DESCRIPTION:THE HARVARD KROKODILOES\n\nSATURDAY\, APRIL 6\, 2013\, 7 PM\n\n\n\nOn Saturday\, April 6\, 2013\, at 7:00 pm\, the Chorus of Westerly will present the third concert on its Collegiate Concert Series with a performance by the hit group The Harvard Krokodiloes\, one of the country's oldest and most well-known a cappella groups. Launched two years ago\, the series as featured sold-out concerts featuring The Yale Whiffenpoofs (2011) and The Dartmouth Aires (2012) here in Kent Hall. The Kroks continue this new a cappella tradition this April!\n\n\n\nThe Harvard Krokodiloes\, Harvard's oldest and most prestigious a cappella singing group\, perform popular music from many decades. Founded at the Hasty Pudding Club in 1946\, the tour the United States and the world\, twelve tuxedo-clas undergraduats singing jazz\, swing\, ballads\, and rock from America's Golden Age.\n\n\n\nThe Krokodiloes present a polished\, professional product\, fine tuned in the course of performing over 200 concerts every year. In addition to the 150 or so concerts that the group performs stateside during the school year\, each summer for the past twenty years the Krokodiloes have embarked on an eleven-week\, six-continent world tour. During that time the Krokodiloes have spread their musical goodwill to all corners of the globe. From Australia to Brazil\, from Europe to Asia\, you can always find a Krokodiloe fan. The group has performed for kings\, presidents\, princes\, and ambassadors all over the world. \n\nFor their Westerly appearance\, the Kroks will present an hour long performance that includes a diverse selection of songs in the historic George Kent Performance Hall. The performance will be accessible to all ages and musical backgrounds. Families\, children\, and teenagers are encouraged to attend.\n\nTickets are required for the performance.  Seating is general admission (open admission - first come\, first serve). Tickets will be $20 for adults\, $10 for children (under age 18). There is a special family ticket (which includes admission for two adults and two children) for $55. The Family Ticket can only be purchased in advance (it is not available the day of the event).
