DESCRIPTION:Maggie Jones\, a Stonington native and Wildlife Biologist\, is a professional Landscape Ecologist\, ornithologist and botanist. She is Executive Director Emeritus of the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center\, where she worked for nearly 30 years. A Connecticut College graduate\, in 2014 she received the Goodwin-Niering Center's Environmental Alumni Achievement Award\, and in 2016 she received the William Crawford Distinguished Service Award from the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT for her efforts in preserving the Coogan Farm Nature and Heritage Center.  Maggie continues to participate in outdoor education and land conservation\, working with individual landowners\, conservation groups and land trusts\, aiming to raise awareness and foster understanding of nature's complex interrelationships. For over 45 years\, she has done fieldwork for the Nature Conservancy\, CT Department of Environmental Protection\, US Fish and Wildlife Service and others aiming to foster a better understanding of nature's complex interrelationships.
