SUMMARY:Past\,Present\, and Future for Little Narragansett Bay
DESCRIPTION:James O'Donnell\, BSc\, M.S\, Ph.D and former Professor of Marine Sciences at UConn's Avery Point\, and currently the Executive Director of the Connecticut Institute for Resilience and Climate Adaptation (CIRCA). His last ten years of study of the Long Island Sound and the adjacent Atlantic shelf is providing the public\, Coast Guard\, and environmental managers\, with statistical\, and scientific data in real time\, of the events happening with global warming\, in our area. He will share his experience with the Coast Guard\, and how his data has created an improved drift system for search and rescue operations. He also will illuminate the expected sea rise level in the coastal area of Pawcatuck\, and Stonington\, and what the impact will be to our local coastal areas. Our past history was dictated by the sea-learn what changes mean\, for the future. Coffee served\, after a brief question and answer. $10 suggested cash donation at the door. Limited availability.
