SUMMARY:Dirigo Professional Development - Building and Executing a Strategic Plan
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday: September 23\, 2025\n\n\n\nExecution\n\nBuilding and Executing a Strategic Plan\n\n\n\nThe Challenge:\n\nEveryone has a different idea of what a strategic plan is\, and most aren't pretty. Common perceptions include a time-consuming academic project that never ends or is instantly outdated\; an enormous binder that sits untouched for years\; or an annual process that produces many ideas\, none of which are executed.\n\n\n\nThe issue is\, without a plan to drive intentional strategies and ensure steady progress\, nothing new happens or if it does\, it's reactionary\, with leadership drifting aimlessly. With guidance\, a strategic plan can be both focused and flexible\, driving purposeful change and keeping us accountable for results.\n\n\n\nWorkshop Description:\n\nThis interactive workshop is designed to help leaders develop organizational strategic plans\, as well as departmental plans which support the broader organizational strategy. It does so by:\n\n	Defining the problem(s) and establishing focus\n	Building a Strategic Framework that leverages a firm foundation based on a guiding policy and agility that enables flexible\, cohesive action\n	Setting clear Goals and KPI's\n	Building a regular cadence of accountability\n\nLeveraging valuable learning models by Michael Porter\, Richard Rumelt\, and The 4 Disciplines of Execution\, participants will learn to effectively use concise strategic plans and execution methodologies to dramatically improve performance of teams and organizations.\n\n\n\nOutcomes:\n\nAt the end of the workshop\, participants will be able to:\n\n	Get to the root of organizational performance issues and clarify necessary changes\n	Building a Strategic Plan that unites departments and key functions within the context of the organization's global goals\n	Establish a means of measuring progress with clearly defined actions and KPI's\n	Set and maintain a schedule for achieving goals\n	Know when and how to modify plans to improve effectiveness
